Netlinksc Successfully Implements Nokia PCRF and SPS

Netlinksc, a leading provider of network solutions and services, is proud to announce that it has successfully implemented Nokia Policy and Charging Rules Function (PCRF) using Nokia Smart Plan Suite (SPS) for one of its major customers.

Nokia PCRF is a key component of the 5G core network that enables dynamic and flexible control of network resources and service quality. It determines the resources and services that can be used to support connected devices, such as whether customers are subscribed to 4G or 5G services, their data allocations, whether they are fixed or mobile subscribers, and even what entertainment services they may have subscribed to through their operator. It also supports innovative business models and personalized offers for subscribers. Nokia SPS is a cloud-native, 5G-ready platform that provides integrated policy, charging and customer engagement capabilities. It is designed for multi-vendor deployments and supports various use cases such as IoT, VoLTE, video streaming and gaming.

Nokia Smart Plan Suite (SPS) is a cloud-native, 5G-ready platform that provides integrated policy, charging and customer engagement capabilities. It enables new monetization models with personalized, contextual offers and creates new partnerships in support of digital services enablement. SPS is based on a common cloud-native platform that supports modular applications and capabilities.

SPS is Nokia’s real-time rating, charging, policy control and customer engagement platform. It is capable of supporting 5G and IoT use cases. The integrated suite (which will also be sold as separate modules) is cloud-native compliant.

The Nokia PCRF and SPS systems can be connected through the use of the PCRF’s policy rules and charging control decisions. The PCRF submits policies to the node based on user identification, which can range from subscriber strings to QoS and filter-related parameters. The PCRF can initiate mid-session policy changes through the Re-Authentication Request (RAR) message.

The Nokia SPS platform provides an integrated PCRF (4G) +PCF (5G), but separate deployments are also supported. The SPS platform is designed for multi-vendor installations and fully pre-integrated with other Nokia solutions as well.

Netlinksc leveraged its expertise and experience in network transformation and optimization to deploy Nokia PCRF and SPS in a fast and efficient manner. The project involved migrating the existing legacy PCRF system to the new Nokia platform, integrating it with other network elements and applications, and testing and validating the functionality and performance. The project also involved training the customer’s staff on how to use and manage the new system.

The benefits of the new Nokia PCRF and SPS system include:

Netlinksc is delighted to have delivered this project successfully and to have helped its customer achieve its business goals. Netlinksc is committed to providing high-quality network solutions and services that meet the evolving needs of the telecom industry.
